Old Dingwall Fire Station, Tulloch Street. 23/8/2006.
This building
was Dingwall fire station until July 1971.
This was a single storey flat roofed building, the flat roof being inline with
the top of the Dryburgh Cycles sign. The office window is the original office
window. The plate glass window on the left demarcates the door of the bay for
the pump escape (GSTI49) and plate glass window on the right and the shop door
demarcates the door of the bay for the water tender (FJS26). At that time, there
was no door off the street but a door in the door of the right hand appliance
room door (not unlike is shown in the picture). The two appliance room doors
were sliding doors, with the right hand door being slide to the right to let the
water tender out, then both doors were slid over to the right to let the pump
escape out.
