Equipment has changed radically over the years ranging from water hand
grenades which were thrown into fires, the hand operated pump, transported on
wheel barrow device and the horses and cart to the modern Merryweather fire
engine which was used in the Mills in the 70s.
Photograph opposite is the Merryweather engines used at Ferguslie Mills.
