Station Officer Monaghan died after feeling unwell at a fire in Coupar Angus on the 25th of January, 1975.
SUDDEN DEATH OF PERTH FIREMAN
A
Station Officer with Perth and Kinross Fire Brigade, who became ill while
investigating a fire in Coupar Angus on Saturday, died later in Perth Royal
Infirmary.
Mr Cormack Monaghan (41), 8 Cluny Terrace, Perth, was called
to Coupar Angus after smoke was reported coming from a building. He had been on
the roof of the building carrying out investigations and when he came down he
complained of being unwell.
He was taken by ambulance to Perth Royal Infirmary but died shortly afterwards.
He is survived by his wife and three of a family.
A native of Braco, he joined the fire service on completion of national service
with the R.A.F. He served in Perth and Dunblane.
He was promoted to Station Officer in 1972.
