With the new brigade structure introduced in the summer of 2003 the 3 Divisions were re-organised into 2 Commands North and South, Portree was put into South Command. Call signs remained the same.
Sub Officer John Matheson from
Portree retired on the 15th September 2005 after 26 years and 3 months service.
A function was held in the Caledonian Hotel in Portree on Saturday the 29th
October attended by all the personnel from the station together with Station
Officer Robert Scott (ex Assistant District Officer) and Assistant District
Officer John MacDonald (ex District Officer) who presented John with the
Firefighters axe on behalf on the Chief Fire Officer (pictured). A fantastic
meal was followed by a fun filled evening.
(Archive News H&I web site)
Portree had a call sign of B10 in The Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service, this was changed toT30, the new National Call Sign, when the Control at Inverness closed on 6/12/2016 and moved to Dundee.
