In 1951 the appliances were two Foam Tenders which were War Office Type 1A1, Ford six wheelers with V8 engines. They carried 300g of water and 100g of foam and the pump could deliver 1700gpm of foam.
A rescue appliance which was a Jeep and was later replaced with a Land rover. An Austin Gas truck which carried twenty four CO2 cylinders in four banks of six so you could discharge multiples of six cylinders. Finally a Water Carrier which was a 500g Tanker. (ex Fireman Jimmy Miller)

if not enough crew more are brought in on overtime and if Cat 5A is required another MFV is brought to station in advance, normally one of the spares from Lossiemouth or Kinloss.
The Fire Station Manager is a Group Manager and the Deputy Fire Station Manager is a Station Manager.
The RIV also provides fire cover for the domestic side of the base until the Local Authority Brigade arrives when they hand over to them and return to the Operational side of the base.
